The Curve recently treated a group of senior citizens from Rumah Charis Old Folk’s Home to a special Chinese New Year gathering
Upon arrival, they were ushered to the Centre Court, which had been transformed into a floating village. The quaint scene, replicated a traditional Chinese fishing village with brilliant red lanterns and festive decorations.
The event started off with a bang as guests were entertained by a specially-choreographed live show entitled A Homecoming Reunion Musical.
The performers wove a touching tale of families coming together to celebrate the new lunar year with their loved ones.
Giving the event an auspicious touch were the Kwong Ngai lion dance troupe which took to the stage to deliver an exciting acrobatic lion dance performance,
Curve centre manager Jazmi Kamarudin said: “Our Chinese New Year theme this year is A Homecoming Reunion and at the Curve, we always strive to share the warmth of family and friends coming together with those in need.”
Happy smiles were seen all around as the senior citizens were presented with special goodie bags as well as ang pow. The afternoon ended on a high note with a delicious reunion-style dinner at Ah Tuan Ee.
Until Feb 23, visitors to the Curve will be able to enjoy a host of performances and activities, including acrobatic and traditional lion dance performances, a tri-ensemble orchestra, and walkabout sessions by the Gods of Prosperity — Cai Shen and Ju Cai Song Bao.
Throughout the festive campaign, shoppers who spend RM138 or more (Maybank cardmembers, RM118) will be able to redeem exclusive the Curve ang pow packets.
Those who spend RM450 and above in a maximum of two receipts (Maybank cardmembers, RM400) can redeem a special three-tier Lunar Spring Tiffin Carrier.
