High-energy charity show to spice up Chinese New Year mood

Riveting show: African dancers from the Sarakasi troupe keeping the crowd on their toes during the New Year’s Eve celebration at Penang Times Square. The group will be performing again at the Ivory CNY Charity Concert on Feb 22.

ELECTRIFYING music and explosive performances await at the Ivory CNY Charity Concert on Feb 22 at Penang Times Square.

The festive philanthropy event by Ivory Properties Group Berhad will start at 8pm at the mall’s Chin Ho Plaza.

It is aimed at raising funds to rebuild homes for victims of the recent floods in the east coast.

The lineup of famous local talents and internationally renowned live bands and dance acts slated to perform includes Worldwide Platinum Records’s North American chart toppers Ovaload and Cash Band.

Former 988 FM radio station DJ Luke Loke will also have the crowd rocking away with selected tracks from his newly released Chinese New Year album ‘Feat-ting Room’.

He will be joined by fellow Worldwide Platinum Records artistes Mickey, Satrina, Michelle and Max Ku who are also featured on the eight-track album which includes two catchy festive tunes.

The album will be up for sale during the concert.

Besides the singing performances, crowds will also be amazed by Kenya’s Sarakasi dancers-cum-acrobats whose fusion of tribal and modern dances as well as gymnastic elements is sure to add some zest and thrills.

Those who missed the Kenyans’ mind-blowing show in the recent New Year’s Eve countdown should not miss this golden chance to catch it live.

While admission is free, entrance is only by presentation of tickets for the Fans Zone and VIP Zone.

The public can redeem entry tickets by cutting out the event banner advertisement on the cover of StarMetro tomorrow as well as on Feb 10, 12, 14 and 21.

Then, they must present it at the Ivory headquarters at Ivory Tower in Penang Times Square.

The tickets can also be redeemed at the mall’s information counter, the Star Northern Hub (Bayan Lepas), Kwong Wah Yit Poh Penang headquarters (Presgrave Street) and regional offices (Bayan Baru, Bukit Mertajam, Butterworth), or the Nanyang Siang Pau Penang office (Weld Quay).

Only two tickets can be redeemed for each original advertisement presented.

The concert is supported by the Penang Press Club, with Penang Times Square as the venue sponsor and The Star as the media partner.
