RESIDENTS at USJ20/1-3 now have a new guardhouse — thanks in part to Main Place Mall.
The shopping centre located nearby, stepped in to help once the design was proposed by the USJ20/1-3 Residents Association.
The official opening recently was celebrated in grand style with guests including Sumbangan Lagenda Sdn Bhd managing director Jason Yam, Binapuri Holdings executive director Matthew Tee, USJ police chief Asst Supt Jasni Zolpa, Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) deputy director (corporate planning) Muhammad Azli Miswan and USJ20 Petronas Adelia Mesra Dua Enterprise owner Sideli Abdullah.
The guardhouse was adorned with red lanterns and red decorative cloth in conjunction with Chinese New Year. The theme was “Together We Prosper” to symbolise the co-operation between the RA and Main Place Mall.
RA president Hoh Choo Kim in his speech said the area was the first to be developed in USJ20 and had more than 300 homes.
“We were using a container-guardhouse for many years,” he said, adding that the involvement of Main Place Mall, which opened in USJ21 over a year ago, proved to be the turning point.
Hoh hoped to increase the RA’s membership to 80% from 70%.
Yam said Main Place Mall was proud to be associated with the project.
“The new guardhouse will make USJ an even better place to live and visit,’’ he said.
Muhammad Azli congratulated the RA for its commitment to the residents.
ASP Jasni urged the residents not to forget the role of the police in keeping the neighbourhood safe.
Hoh joined the VIPs in cutting a red ribbon to declare open the guardhouse.
Fish & Co sponsored food and drinks for the occasion while Berry Cake House provided the cake.
