IT’S all about a premium lifestyle, and with Swiss Watch Gallery holding its first watch exhibition in Penang, it’s good to have the right mix of strategic and lifestyle partners.
These include Tourism Malaysia, Gurney Paragon Mall, Auto Bavaria, The Star, Four Points by Sheraton, and Broker’s London Dry Gin.
The exhibition, called Watch Masters, features brands like Graham, Longines, Oris, Maurice Lacroix, Tag Heuer, Tissot and Tudor.
Here’s what some of the partners have to say:
A representative said the partnership will deliver a unique accessible luxury retail experience to tourists and the exhibition will also showcase Penang as a vibrant des-tination with visitors enjoying the beaches, heritage attractions, culture, art and fine shopping.
Gurney Paragon Mall
Khor Tze Ming, group executive director of Hunza Properties Berhad, says they have lined up a number of exciting events in conjuction with the exhibition.
“Just like at any other industry tradeshow, there will be a late shopping night for visitors.
“On Feb 7, the business hours will be extended until midnight.
“There will also be exciting Chinese New Year performances and special promotions offered by tenants to welcome the Year of the Goat.
To drive more customers to the mall, there will also be a lucky draw with a gold bar as the grand prize.”
Lim Boon Leong, managing director of Auto Bavaria, says that luxury cars like BMW are the ultimate style statement and will complement any of the featured timepieces.
“Watch and automotive industries are similar in certain aspects, as both share a huge passion for engineering, heritage and workmanship.
“Those who attend the exhibition will be able to catch a glimpse of the latest BMW 328i GT by Auto Bavaria at the showcase.”
Four Points by Sheraton
The hotel will be creating dishes to complement the timepieces through the pairing of quality ingredients.
The cuisine will be an enticing fusion of Western flavours, specially curated for the exhibition.
A representative said guests can look forward to a delectable range of fusion-inspired cold and hot canapés such as Poached Scallop with Wasabi Sabayon, a carving station, and an array of delightful desserts.
Broker’s London Dry Gin
There are many similarities in watch making and in distilling handcrafted gin. Namely, the Master Distiller assesses the quality of the spirit and the Master Watchmaker assesses the craftsmanship of the timepiece.
A representative of Brokers says that guests will get a first-hand taste of the classic Gin & Tonic with Broker’s Premium London Dry Gin.
The Watch Masters exhibition presented by Swiss Watch Gallery runs till Feb 9 from 10am-10pm daily (except for private closed-door events) at Gurney Paragon Mall, Penang. The Star is the official media partner for the exhibition.
