Shimmers of the Chinese new year

The festive vibe noticeably elevated when the Guinness Anchor Berhad (GAB) team paid an early Chinese New Year visit to Menara Star in Petaling Jaya.

The Star staff members, led by Star Publications (M) Bhd group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai, were greeted with ice-cold drinks at the lobby.

The employees also took part in a lucky draw and other games such as the “strike the golden egg” contest.

The celebration was livened up by the performance of the Khuan Ngai lion dance troupe while the God of Prosperity and crew spread fortune by giving away chocolate gold coins and mandarin oranges.

Elaborating on the team’s visit, GAB managing director Hans Essaadi said it was important that they kept to their tradition every year to spread joy and prosperity to valued members of the media.

“It is not only an opportunity for us to meet and greet them personally, but we are also proud to kick-start the new lunar year in a prosperous way with them,” he said.

Along with the entourage came the RM1mil pure gold bars display that lent sparkle to the lobby area.

The gold bars are part of Tiger Beer’s “Celebration of Golden Prosperity” campaign giveaway where consumers will stand a chance to score winning bottle-cap liners through any big bottle purchase of Tiger Beer, Guinness, Heineken or Anchor.

One hundred bottle-cap holders will then gather at the campaign’s grand finale where they will each crack a golden egg to reveal their prize, which could be either one of ten 500gm gold bars or one of ninety 10gm gold bars.

During the campaign, GAB will also be doling out instant winnings such as Tiger Radler beverages and cash filled red packets.

The brewer is giving out prizes worth a total of RM2.2mil for the campaign, which will run until Feb 28.
