Luggage brand shows off its latest collection

SAMSONITE Red celebrated its latest collection with a pop-up display.

The brand’s stylishly practical bags in an array of chic designs were showcased in a week-long event where guests had the opportunity to be photographed with their favourite Samsonite Red bag.

The snapshot was presented to them on a special Samsonite Red frame as a memento.

The showcase included a fashion show featuring models parading the brand’s latest range of bags.

Reinventing Red’s business casual, urban casual and young casual collections, each line promises an intriguing mix of unique designs, material and multi-functional details.

Samsonite Malaysia general manager P. Mohan said the luggage company was excited to highlight the cool and trendy world of Samsonite Red.

“Samsonite has truly evolved from a brand that was only synonymous with luggage to every type of carryall including everyday bags that are not only stylish but also practical,” he said.

For instance, the business casual Reife is all-leather and offers corporate individuals the luxury of having a slim bag in three different designs — a cross bag for the mobile executive, a sleek tote bag for the shopaholic and a briefcase for the uber-stylish executive.

The simplicity of Reife reflects the pure functionality of a work bag with a zipper opening the main compartment, front and back pockets tailored with magnetic snap, and a big exterior open pocket for documents or electronic devices.

The urban casual Ager will appeal to young female executives as it can transit effortlessly from work to play.

The elegant Ager comes with leather lining and trim accentuated by hexagon-shaped metal detail. This series offers two variations — tote and backpack in navy or beige.

The other design in the urban casual range, Sorella speaks of Samsonte Red’s vibrant side. Women who love this range can select from a gamut of orange, brown, burgundy or blue in sizes large and small.

The bag, made of lightweight nylon material, is equipped with a front pocket enabling easy and convenient organisation, being just the right size for cellphones and purses, with additional charm and front zipper details that enhance the overall aesthetics.

Aequum, meanwhile, is a series catering to male professionals on the go. The new collection incorporates contemporary designs, with big front pockets.

The special weaving technique lends Aequum its durability, versatility and resistance to excessive temperatures, wear and tear as well as scratches.

The backpack legacy lives on in Samsonite Red’s young casual line featuring five distinctive series — Culmen, Laetus, Albida, Humo and Rivus. They are lined with heavy nylon and have various indispensable features such as mesh side pockets, colour-point zipper pull and embroidered logo.
