VISITORS to Damansara Uptown should feel safer as See Hoy Chan Sdn Bhd has embarked on the first leg of its auxiliary police initiative.
The company said it was aimed at boosting security in the area.
The property developer received approval from the police last year to set up an auxiliary police force in Damansara Uptown.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Azmi Abu Kassim recently presented members of the auxiliary police force with certificates.
They had earlier undergone Auxiliary Police Basic Training at the Air Hitam Police Training Centre in Jempol, Negri Sembilan.
Initially, 27 auxiliary police personnel will be deployed in Damansara Uptown.
“Upon the completion of Damansara Uptown Phase 2, the size of the auxiliary police force will be further increased,” said See Hoy Chan Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Joe Tan.
The auxiliary police force will work in tandem with the police to ensure the safety of visitors, tenants and workers in the area.
“Our auxiliary police force underwent training on police procedures, outdoor drill and firearms usage.
“They have also been trained on various aspects of law enforcement and patrol techniques to carry out their duties effectively,” said Tan.
He added that implementing security measures in Uptown was part of the company’s social responsibility to the community here.
“This is in line with our commitment to make Damansara Uptown the safest place in Petaling Jaya to live, work and play,” said Tan.
