PASIR GUDANG: A team from the Pasir Gudang District Education Department will be sending post-flood relief aid to help families and schools in Maran, Pahang.

The department’s representative Abdul Razak Abdul Samad said the aid would help students from three schools in the district start school on a better footing.

“The aid, worth over RM50,000, will benefit about 368 pupils in SK Chenor, SK Paya Pasir and SK Kertau.

“Among the items donated were school uniforms, school bags, stationery, water jets and prayer attire for Muslims,” he said after flagging-off the convoy at SMKA Johor Baru Pasir Gudang on Thursday.

Abdul Razak said that 40 volunteers comprising staff from various agencies would help distribute the items.

“Apart from school necessities, we will also give cash aid to the pupils.

“Each school will also be getting two printers and other stationery items,” he added.

He also said that they would deploy 10 vehicles to assist in the distribution process.

The three-day mission which ends on Saturday, was jointly organised by the Pasir Gudang branch of the Malaysian School Headmasters Council, and Wives of Civil Servants and Women Civil Servants Association (Puspanita).
