KUCHING: Former prime pinister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad will be in town on Tuesday to speak at the International Energy Week 2015.
The Sarawak government event is one of the largest oil and gas, power and energy programmes in Malaysia. Some 3,000 delegates are expected at the event, which will be held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching.
The Petroleum Asia ’15 Expo and ElectroPower 15 Expo will also be held alongside the main event.
Dr Mahathir will be presenting the keynote speech. Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem will also be one of the speakers.
The energy week this year is themed “Empowering transformation in sustainable and renewable energy in Sarawak”.
“The exhibition and conference is designed to update industry players on how to better integrate the aspects of sustainable energy solutions, design capabilities, regulatory aspects in the region, among other matters,” the organisers said in a press release.
“The event is a perfect opportunity for sustainable energy industry player all around Asia to congregate and network with international representatives from all across Asia-Pacific.”
