In conjunction with its “Christmas Fairy Tails” promotion, Mid Valley Megamall had its annual Santa Meet and Greet charity programme to raise funds for Agathians Shelter.

This charity programme, a joint effort with HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad and supported by Foto Shangri-La, saw shoppers donate a minimum of RM10 to have their photographs taken with Santa Claus and got to bring home a 4R photo card as well as a present.

The children from the welfare home were delighted to receive the full proceeds from the charity programme.

Agathians Shelter is a registered welfare organisation governed by Pertubuhan Kebajikan Agathians Malaysia. The non-governmental organisation founded in 2003 relies purely on public donation.

The shelter currently houses 40 boys from aged five to 19, who are either orphaned, abandoned or from single-parent or broken families.

The organisation provides them with schooling opportunities and, if needed, treatment or counselling for post-traumatic experiences.
