LADIES who dream of glamour on the catwalk can still register for the Miss Malaysia Asian International 2014/15 pageant Penang state selection.
Places are still available in the heats which are being held every Thursday until Jan 29 at the Slippery Senoritas Salsa Club and Restaurant in Upper Penang Road in George Town.
A total of 18 contestants will be shortlisted for the semi-finals on Feb 5, to be further whittled down to 12 for the finals on Feb 12, both also at the same venue.
All sessions start at 11pm.
Event organiser Christine Lim said candidates needed to be between 18 and 26 years old, and should register before Jan 27.
The winner stands to receive RM3,000 in cash, a crown, sash and sponsored prizes. The first and second runners-up will win RM2,000 and RM1,000 respectively, along with similar goodies.
The top three will also qualify for the national finals which will be held sometime in March, also in Penang.
They will battle it out with fellow state finalists from Johor, Kuala Lumpur, Kedah, Pahang and Perak, with the overall winner getting the chance to represent the country in the grand finals later this year.Lim, a former beauty queen herself, said the pageant was also being held in India, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Myanmar, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Macau, China, United States, Vietnam, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Australia, Brunei, Korea, Japan and Indonesia.
The first heat of the Penang state selection was held on Thursday.
