WITH Chinese New Year approaching, Sports Toto Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Sports Toto) will soon be holding the 27th annual Chinese New Year Ang Pow Donation Campaign 2015.
The campaign will be held between Feb 5 and 12, and is expected to benefit more than 16,000 needy senior citizens nationwide.
It will be launched at the Stadium Badminton Kuala Lumpur at Mile 3½, Jalan Cheras, Kuala Lumpur on Feb 5.
In previous years, the launch was held at the Kuala Lumpur Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall but the venue had to be moved as the hall is under renovation.
“The CNY Ang Pow donation campaign is Sports Toto’s biggest corporate social responsibility project of the year. It has been held for the past 26 years.
“We expect over 2,500 senior citizens for the campaign launch on Feb 5.
“I hope everyone takes note of the change and joins us at the right place,” said Sports Toto’s communications manager Giam Say Khoon.
Sports Toto advises qualified senior citizens above the age of 60 to come before 9am and bring their MyKad for verification.
The donation will be on a first-come, first-served basis and no representative is allowed to collect the ang pow and hamper on behalf of any senior citizen.
Qualified senior citizens in other vicinities should visit the nearest Sports Toto outlet for more details and register for the donation campaign nationwide.
Since the inception of this campaign in 1989, Sports Toto has contributed over RM16mill worth of ang pows and hampers to more than 300,000 senior citizens in the country.
