Buying essentials: A volunteer helping one of the families during the shopping trip.

A TOTAL of 10 underprivileged families were given RM100 vouchers to spend at Tesco through the Shopping Buddy Programme.

The programme is conducted by Great Vision Charity Association on the third Sunday of each month.

The 10 underprivileged families were taken to The Scott Garden in Jalan Kelang Lama by volunteers from the association.

The programme was run in collaboration with other partners so that they could influence more volunteers to become involved in charitable events.

The owner of the Ella Collection fashion boutique Neezam Moideen presented the families with a head scarf each after he got to know of the programme when the group passed by his outlet.

The group dined at Seasons Restaurant which provided them with a special 10% discount.

The event’s team leader Ken Ho Ken How was touched by the kindness shown by the boutique and restaurant owners and expressed his gratitude
