MALACCA: Monetary aid by Avillion Legacy Hotel enlightened the New Year bliss for three charity homes here.

Money raised through the hotel’s charity drive themed “Time for Giving, Time for Sharing” held end of last year were handed over to the homes with the aim of sharing the goodwill and joy with the underprivileged children.

The hotel successfully raised funds amounting to RM13,500 that was later presented to individuals representing the managements of the homes.

Mock cheques amounting RM4,500 each were presented to Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Yatim Islam in Jasin, Amithabha Center from Taman Malim Jaya and Persatuan Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Terencat Akal of Bukit Baru during a event held at the hotel recently.

The aids were presented by Avillion Legacy’s general manager, Low Kee Nam.

Low said the contribution was part of the hotel’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme in contributing to the needy from the local communities.

“Our policy is not only on focusing on business growth but also to attend to the needs of deserving individuals, especially orphans.

“Social work is an integral part of our hotel and we believe that helping these underprivileged children at an early stage of development will also benefit the community”, he said.

Low also said that the charity drive had been going on for nine consecutive years since the hotel started operations and different homes are chosen each year to receive their aid.

The charity campaign was held from Nov 1 to Dec 31 last year with the successful sale of 1,000 T-shirts.
