Ice cream brand opens KL flagship store with two infinity bars

ICE CREAM lovers can now have their very own customised Magnum experience with the opening of the Magnum Kuala Lumpur flagship store in Mid Valley Megamall.

Dubbed the ‘ultimate indulgence for Malaysian pleasure seekers’, the 4,200 sq ft store spans across two floors, with a contemporary and artistic interior that comfortably seats up to 100 people and is also available for private functions.

It is the first Magnum pleasure store in the world with two infinity bars that allow guests to create their personal, customised ice creams with the ‘Make My Magnum’ experience.

For RM9.90, guests can choose from a normal, dark or white chocolate base; and pair it with a plethora of coatings, toppings and drizzles with more than 250,000 possible combinations.

Some of the sweet items that can be added to your personalised Magnum ice creams include coconut, almonds, nuts, jelly and so much more.

Unilever Holdings Malaysia Marketing director Herry Budiazhari said they were proud to include Kuala Lumpur into their global Magnum journey.

“We have 30 outlets worldwide and,” Herry said at the launch.

He said response from the public was good, as the store had broken the record for more than 2,000 units sold in a day.

“We want to engage our customers in a rich two-way conversation, and offer them a pampering and rewarding experience where they can experiment with their own creativity,” he said, adding that they aimed to open more stores in Malaysia in the future.

Magnum Kuala Lumpur pastry head chef Miko Aspiras said ice cream was a dessert that evoked happiness in people.

Aspiras said they used good quality Belgian chocolate for their desserts. He also demonstrated some of his favourite dessert combinations, including cheesecake custard and sponge, as well as bamboo charcoal sponge cake with almond to go along with the Magnum ice-cream.

Some of the popular items at the store include Magnum Kaya waffle toast, a creation specially available only for Malaysian customers; as well as the Magnum Triple Chocolate Cookie Skillet and Magnum Trifle.

During the grand opening, six Magnum ‘muses’ — lifestyle icon showcasing Magnum models — indulged guests to their style and class with a fashion showcase to the beats of DJ Joey G.

Each Magnum model was an artistic replica of a Magnum ice-cream, reflecting their designer’s personifications.

Magnum Black Leather was a “suave and uber-cool confident gentleman” presented by Wak Doyok and personified by the work of Fairuz Ramdan.

The Magnum Porcelain Beauty, was carried by TV personality Belinda Chee in the stunning work of Fizi Woo, exuding oriental porcelain skin and demure charm, and dressed with blossoming blue petals.

Malaysian screen heartthrob Aqasha presented The Magnum Maestro with the style of a true gentleman, wrapped in a suit by menswear maestro Bon Zainal.

Pure glitter and glamour was personified by Malaysia’s R&B queen Ning Baizura, whose Rizman Ruzaini dress was encrusted with sparkling diamonds fit for a queen, as she presented The Magnum Diva.

TV personality Alan Yun presented The Magnum Masterpiece while looking rather dapper in a Bon Zainal bespoke suit.

Last but not least, iconic fashion figure Nasha Aziz’s supermodel style was personified in the Magnum Black and White - a symbol of sophistication in black and enhanced femininity in white roses, beautifully represented by BCBG Max Azria.

The models will be displayed at Magnum Kuala Lumpur at T-023, 052 & 054, Mid Valley Megamall.
