KUCHING: Executive College (EC) the year-end with with an annual prom night event themed “Red Carpet” for its students and staff at Kuching City South Council.
Organised by a team of quantity surveying students, the event’s objective was to strengthen the bonds among students and staff while providing the students a good opportunity to improve their social skills and to discover their personal talents through performances.
The night was filled with entertaining performances by students from different programme, lucky draws, games and awards.
Alumni and final year students who were also present enjoyed the event as they mingled with junior students and shared their learning experiences.
Preparing for event, the students involved developed skills in negotiation and planning as they were given a budget to meet. Their creativity and innovative skills were also cultivated as they were in charge of decorating the venue.
The students learnt to take up leadership roles as they managed and coordinated the programmes for the night as well as gained teamwork and unity. EC aspires to instil not only educational knowledge, but also holistic or personal skills among its students.
EC plans to organise more activities for its students to make college life a fun and unforgettable journey.
