THE wait is over for trampoline and fitness fans in Penang who have been longing to relive their childhood dreams of jumping on their parents’ beds.

When it comes to fun and fitness, the recently opened Jump Street Penang trampoline park is the place to be.

Covering over 27,000sq ft in the atrium of D’Piazza Mall in Bayan Baru, the park features eight types of trampoline courts for visitors to enjoy different jumping experien-ces.

Jump Street Malaysia Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Duncan McGillan said he was excited to introduce a trampoline park in Penang as it would offer Penangites a fun platform to get healthy while spending quality time with friends and family.

“In addition to benefitting the mind and body, trampolining is a safe activity that can be enjoyed by just about everyone.

“Whether you are new to trampolines or an expert aerial athlete, we have a diverse range of trampolines and related activities that will keep you jumping for more,” he said.

McGillan added that he was surprised by the popularity of Jump Street Kuala Lumpur since May 2014, recording over 280,000 visitors to date.

Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon, who opened the ceremony, executed a slam dunk as he tried out the trampoline basketball lane.

“This is a new year and many have made resolutions to lose weight and be healthy.

“The trampoline park seems like an enjoyable place for a great workout,” he said.

Also present at the opening were Penang Gymnastic Association president Datuk Tan Gin Soon and Penang Global Tourism general manager Ooi Chok Yan.

Jump Street Penang features a number of popular attractions from Kuala Lumpur including a large main court, two Dodge Ball courts, a colossal foam pit with two launching lanes, three trampoline basketball lanes, three vertical running walls and a giant airbag.

The two new attractions available only in Penang are called ‘The Tower’ and the ‘Battle Beam’.

Usage of the park is charged by the hour, beginning with RM20 per hour during off-peak seasons and RM25 per hour for peak seasons.

Only 150 people are allowed to use the trampolines at any one time. Visitors must be at least three years old and accompanied by an adult.
