MALACCA: The body of a man, believed murdered, was found by members of the public in a bush in Cheng Perdana, Cheng here at 9.30am yesterday.
Speaking to reporters, Central Melaka District Police chief, ACP Shaikh Abdul Adzis Shaikh Abdullah said the identity of the man had yet to be identified as there was no identification documents was found on the body.
“The victim, in his 30s, was believed to have been hit on the head and stabbed several times in the back.
“He was also believed to have been killed elsewhere less than 24 hours ago before being dumped there,” he said, adding that further investigations were being done.
In another case, police detained two men early yesterday morning in connection with the death of a contract worker whose body was found with slash wounds on the neck in Merlimau, Jasin on Jan 2.
Melaka CID chief ACP Raja Shahrom Raja Abdullah said the duo, aged 20 and 21, were nabbed separately yesterday in Merlimau and Ayer Keroh, here.
“The 21-year-old man was detained at a factory in Ayer Keroh at 10.30am, while the 20-year-old was nabbed at a house in Merlimau at 11.30am,” he told a media conference here yesterday.
He said police found items belonging to the victim, a contract worker with Tenaga Nasional Berhad, and a knife believed to be the murder weapon.
On Monday, police detained a man and a woman to help in investigation on the case, he added. - Bernama
