Say ‘aah’: Sree (in batik) and fellow volunteers observing a resident undergo dental examination at the health camp in Kimsar Garden, Prai.

RESIDENTS of Kimsar Garden in Prai received free medical screening during a health camp at their Residents Association (RA) hall.

Organising chairman and Kimsar Garden RA president Sree Vijayanayagam said the annual event was held to create awareness on the importance of healthcare.

“This is one of the various annual programmes carried out to benefit the residents here. About 200 people attended the medical camp,” he added.

Besides general health examinations, there were also blood and glucose screenings, pap-smear tests, breast cancer examination for women, as well as eye, ear and BMI examinations.

A dentist and students from the Penang International Dental College were also there to provide free dental examination.

The first 100 early birds received a goodie bag each which included a discounted voucher courtesy of BP Diagnostic Centre Butterworth and samples of Captain Oats sponsored by Federal Oats Mills Sdn Bhd.

There were also free flow of drinks sponsored by Sunquick Malaysia and Enrico Sdn Bhd.

Deputy Chief Minister (II) Dr P. Ramasamy, who opened the event, hoped other housing schemes would emulate the Kimsar Garden RA to conduct similar programmes.

“Nowadays, there are medicines for all diseases and early detection will help,” he said.
