A LINE dancing competition will be held at the Batu Lanchang market community hall on Feb 8 by Batu Lanchang assemblyman Danny Law’s service centre.
The preliminary competition will be from 2pm to 5pm on the day, while the final stage will be held from 8pm to 11pm.
Law, who is the organising chairman, said the event would bring the community together.
“It will also provide a great opportunity for dancers to gather and get to know each other.
“With this line dancing com-petition, excellent dancers can share and show their talents and skills too,” he said during a press conference on the compe-tition, held at the Jelutong market.
He said each team should have a minimum of eight to 12 dan-cers and each performance would last for 10 minutes.
“Only 10 teams from the preliminary round will qualify for the final stage,” he said.
The first prize is RM3,000, while second and third-placed winners will receive RM2,000 and RM1,000 respectively. Two consolation prizes worth RM500 each will also be given away.
The top three teams will also be required to perform during the state Chinese New Year open house event on Feb 23.
Registration fee is RM20 per team. Those interested can get the entry forms at Law’s service centre at 332F-3, Jalan Perak.
Closing date is on Jan 31.
