SAVING with the Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) Sijil Simpanan Premium (SSP) has made one lucky account holder a millionaire through the SSP Draw 2014.

Wan Norisham Pa’wan, 44, an assistant administrative officer was crowned the grand prize winner of the SSP Special Draw.

“It was unbelievable but I was calm at first when I received the phone call, and the excitement only hit me when I was on the way to Wangsa Walk Mall for the prize-giving ceremony,” he said.

Norisham has been a SSP account holder for more than 10 years, making an effort to save a minimum amount consistently.

More than 61,000 prizes worth RM18mil were also given out this year, including BMW and Mercedes cars, South Korea tour packages, smart phones and electronic gadgets.

“BSN will continue to offer interesting activities and attractive prizes in an effort to cultivate the habit of saving among the public,” said BSN senior vice-president and head Frederick Siew.

For 2015, there will be 267 prize draws, increasing the chances of winning compared to 34 draws this year, with a total of 88,000 prizes worth RM18mil up for grabs.

“SSP holders are eligible for the SSP Special Draw of RM1mil with a saving of RM3,000,” said Siew, adding that the special draw would remain for the upcoming year in December.

SSP holders with a minimum saving of RM10 are eligible to participate in the other lucky draw categories — Monthly Draw, Local Draw and the new Weekly Draw.

Prizes offered in the SSP Draw 2015 include BMW and Mercedes cars, a Perodua Axia and SSP schemes.

“BSN continuously stay committed in offering a wide range of innovative products and quality services to meet our customers’ needs,” said Siew.

“Next year, we are targeting to achieve a total amount of RM3.15bil SSP deposits, an increase of RM400mil to the current RM2.75bil,” he added.
