THE upcoming EcoWorld Starlight 2015 New Year Concert Tour in Penang featuring Mandopop superstar Wang Lee Hom has received tremendous response.

All 8,000 free-seating tickets for the public for the Jan 17 concert have been snapped up, said Eco World Development Group Bhd (EcoWorld) Penang general manager Khoo Teck Chong.

“Our team was very encouraged by the fantastic response from the public. We expect it to be an evening of good music and entertainment. We are extremely pleased to be able to share this occasion with Penangites.

“The concert is specially held between New Year and Chinese New Year for us to celebrate these two occasions with our potential customers and Penangites.

“We did not want to hold it too near Chinese New Year because everyone will be very busy then,” Khoo said after bringing pressmen on a tour of the EcoWorld Penang sales gallery in Macalister Road on Tuesday.

He said the concert was also organised to celebrate the group’s presence in Penang following the recent opening of the sales gallery.

Other performers at the 7pm concert at the Subterranean Penang International Convention and Exhibition Centre (SPICE) in Relau are Voice of China finalist Melody, Malaysian singer-songwriter Najwa Latif and world-class illusionist Daniel Craven.

Penang is the first of three stops for the concert which will also be held at Iskandar Malaysia in Johor and Semenyih in the Klang Valley on Jan 24 and Jan 31 respectively.

Khoo said EcoWorld was excited and looking forward to showcase the group’s first development — Eco Terraces — in Penang soon.

The freehold project, located on a 5.18ha plot in Jalan Paya Terubong, offers 333 luxurious condominium units of 1,000sq ft to 1,900 sq ft in size at RM800psf.

“One of the unique selling points of the project is that only 30% of the land will be used for development.

“The remaining 70% is dedicated to natural elements.

“The launching of this project will be either in May or June,” Khoo said, adding that the low-density development was now open for registration and scheduled for completion in end 2018.
