Hotel collecting essentials in aid of flood victims

HARD Rock Hotel Penang in Batu Ferringhi and the public have collected five tonnes of goods in aid of the east coast flood victims.

Hotel general manager John Primmer said that non-perishable foodstuff, drinking water, baby napkins, cooking oil, rice and many more items were collected with the help of the public.

“The hotel contributed 200 cartons of bottled drinking water as well as soap and other essential items,” he said.

He added that all the supplies were transported to the Firefly Airlines collection centre at the Penang International Airport on Friday.

He added that they would continue to collect the items until tomorrow and send them over to the Firefly Airlines collection centre on Friday.

“We would like to thank the public for their generous support.

“I am touched to see that many Malaysians have stepped in to lend a helping hand,” he said.

Those who wish to donate goods may drop them off with the hotel concierge by tomorrow.
