TRANSVIEW Golf Malaysia through its parent company Leonian Singapore, opened their first Hurley store in Malaysia, located at Ansa Hotel Kuala Lumpur, and are aiming to make a mark on the local scene.
The Hurley store is one of a few projects in the company’s expansion programme, said Transview Golf business manager Kevin Yeap, who added that they were excited about growing their portfolio to include other sports and lifestyle brands.
“This outlet at Ansa KL is the first Hurley store in Kuala Lumpur and part of plans that include a few more that we envisage opening in the Klang Valley over the next two years,” said Yeap.
Hurley was founded in Huntington Beach, California in the US in 1999 on “the principle of empowering and fuelling the next generation” and over the years has become a global brand.
“Rooted in a beach culture and built around the brand’s values of positivity and inclusion, Hurley celebrates self-expression from the skate park to the canvas.
“It’s been making waves and getting loud with the world’s best surfers, skaters, musicians and artists,” said Yeap.
“Everything Hurley does is put through the lens of innovation and inclusion, turning the end results into a colourful celebration of the people, places, music and art that keeps them inspired.
“When we started to venture into lifestyle brands, we wanted something away from golf and to build a name in other sport/lifestyle segments in the market.
“We decided on Hurley because it is one of the top brands in the world that has been lacking in this part of the region and we wanted to connect with the aquatics demand here. After all, we are a nation in the tropics,” he added.
