Retention pond that caused flooding in Sungai Buloh not part its development, says developer

IN response to public speculation about a broken bund of a retention pond near Taman Seri Alam in Sungai Buloh, which caused flooding to 200 homes, property developer Glomac Berhad has clarified that the pond is not part of their Bandar Saujana Utama development.

"In the wake of the recent flash flood caused by a barrier breach that occurred in Taman Seri Alam, Glomac sympathises with the misfortune experienced by nearly 200 affected homes that has taken place on 29 December 2024," said the statement.

The statement further clarified that although water from the pond has overflowed into a small area of Bandar Saujana Utama, the majority of the township remains largely unaffected.

"It is brought to our attention that the responsible developer is undertaking remedial measures to address the breach.

"Nevertheless, we continue to exercise vigilance in monitoring the safety and well-being of our township developments," the statement added.
