Feminine influences, narrower silhouettes and the paring down of volume were seen in the Autumn/Winter 2007/08 collections from Giorgio Armani, Boss Black and Marc Jacobs.
A number of designers either departed from their signature styles or made significant changes in the latest Autumn/Winter collections, which means the girlie looks of the past seasons are slowly giving way to dressing like a woman again. Giorgio Armani, who last season had already experimented with his jackets, did further changes and highlighted different styles of skirts, while Boss Black chose to stick to their formula of tailored, classic looks. Marc Jacobs, who can always be relied on to create a sensation, managed to surprise even the jaded by coming out with a collection of restrained, beautiful clothes and making a statement on the return of the elegant and wearable.
