MALAYSIAN art in Shanghai and Paris; video art and designs from Japan; contemporary art from China; the Eight Malaysian Pioneer Artists exhibition, and a retrospective by photographer Ismail Hashim. These are among the firmed art highlights for 2010.
The National Art Gallery (NAG) will have its hands full with two major overseas programmes, namely the World Fair in Shanghai and the Malaysia Week arts and cultural festival in Paris. Themed Better City – Better Life, the Shanghai expo is expected to attract 70 million visitors over its May 1 to Oct 31 duration, and NAG is working on the best showcase for Malaysian visual arts.
