MOHD Yazid Zakaria (Mahsuri): Mohd Yazid began his music career with the Petronas Performing Arts Group (PPAG) in 1993 and has since represented Malaysia at several international festivals, including the Malaysian Jazz Festival in 1993. He was also music director for many PPAG dance dramas at the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas, including Raja Sakti (1998), Puteri Gunung Ledang (1999), Lambang Sari and Malim Deman (2000), Hanuman (2001) and Mahsuri (2003). He won a Cameronian Arts Award in 2002 for best original composition, Indera Putera. Mohd Yazid also made waves in the industry when he worked with several other composers to present the well-received Konsert Geeta Gangsa in 2003 that melded gamelan with modern Western music.
In 2005, he composed Cak Pak Ting Doh, a unique work combining both Malay and Western music instruments, with touches of orang asli music.
