Riccardo Tisci, the 30-year-old designer from southern Italy, unveiled for Givenchy a version of cool elegance that brought to mind Alfred Hitchcock’s heroines crossed with the radical rock chic of PJ Harvey.
A slow catwalk allowed full appreciation of the garments, which sketched a very drawn-out line. Tulip-shaped skirts followed the body’s curve, while shoulders were emphasised by balloon-sleeves on dresses and pleated arms on shirts.
