A young man embarks on a vacation and ends up finding himself an exciting new vocation. It sounds like a dream, but that’s what happened to Khoo Pei Cong, better known by his stage name Wave, when he went backpacking in Thailand seven years ago, and ended up finding his calling there.

“I loved the country. But I was only there for a holiday, and didn’t plan to stay long,” mused the dashing 31-year-old, during an interview at Paradigm Mall in Petaling Jaya recently, as he recalled his first days in the country he now calls home.
