Songstress receives RM310,000 worth of donation to flood victims.
At Datuk Siti Nurhaliza’s 36th birthday celebration last Sunday, comedian Zizan Razak, who hosted the event, said to the audience in jest: “Get ready with your gifts for Datuk Siti, whether it’s houses or cars.”
The local pop darling got something even better.
Siti later announced she had received “the most meaningful gift, the most special gift and a gift that touches my heart the most.”
“Tonight, I received RM310,000 worth of donations to the flood victims.
“There is no gift that makes me more happy than to be able put a smile on the faces of our disaster victims,” said the singer clad in an understated black and grey ensemble.
The donations, made by entrepreneurs and charitable foundations including Siti and her husband’s Yayasan Nurjiwa, were then presented to the Minister of Home Affairs, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Held at the Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur, the close-knit affair was also a symbol of appreciation for those who had a hand in making Siti’s AIM-winning album, Fragmen, including songwriters, composers, Universal Music executives and industry partners.
Local celebrity friends such as Fara Fauzana, Ummi Nazeera, Izara Aishah and Indonesian singer Tegar also joined in the celebration.
Siti, who will be celebrating her 20th year in the industry in April, shared her New Year’s resolution: “I hope to become a better wife, a better daughter, a better person.”
