Top venue for countdown celebrations


The Top Penang at Komtar is set to take New Year’s Eve celebrations to new heights with lavish dining experiences, exciting entertainment and a spectacular fireworks display this Dec 31.

What better place to usher in 2020 and a whole new decade, than at the ‘Highest Iconic Entertainment Tower’ in George Town – which rises some 816ft above sea level and commands panoramic 360-degree views.

Couples and families alike will love the five-course set dinner offered at Coco Cabana Bar & Bistro on Level 68 - priced at RM218++ per adult and RM118++ per child.

Big eaters might prefer the Buffet Dinner at Top View Restaurant & Lounge, located on Level 59 of the tower, instead. Expect a sumptuous spread of meats, seafood and more, with diverse international flavours.

Currently, there is an Early Bird rate of RM108++ per adult and RM68++ per child for the buffet. The standard price is RM118++ per adult and RM78++ per child. Besides Dec 31, the spread is also available on the evening of Jan 1.

Those preferring a Chinese-styled banquet can opt for the Fireworks Countdown 7-Course Menu at the majestic Imperial Court Restaurant, located on Level 6 of the attraction. Combining modern and classic Oriental flavours, it ensures a satisfying end to the year.

For now, there is an Early Bird rate of RM1,888nett per table of ten, inclusive of a bottle of wine during the dinner. The standard rate is RM2,020nett, also inclusive of a bottle of wine during dinner.

All guests for Coco Cabana and Imperial Court’s dinners enjoy free entry to the night’s main highlight – the Fireworks Countdown Party 2020 taking place at the Level 68 rooftop.

However, those having the buffet at Top View will have to top up RM38nett to join in the countdown celebrations.

There will be music and dance performances by the Chakora band all night long, to be capped off by a Grand 360-degree Fireworks Display at the stroke of midnight. Have your mobile devices and cameras on hand, as the spectacular pyrotechnics is sure be social media-worthy.

Outsiders can also walk-in and join the party by paying RM99nett per person, which includes a drink. There is an Early Bird rate of RM68nett, valid for the first 400 tickets only.
