When you’ve got to do it for the ‘Gram, where do you travel to these days? The answer: Dubai!

The city is home to golden sand dunes, glittering skyscrapers, historical sites and crystal clear turquoise waters.

In other words, it’s a picture-perfect setting to elevate your Instagram game. Home to some of the most photographed landmarks in the world, here are a few venues to take those Insta-worthy shots.

Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood

This coral-coloured area is complete with 19th-century local architecture and designs.

Neatly-preserved buildings with high wind towers and large courtyards are seperated by winding alleys and public squares. For some unique shots, check out the Alserkal Cultural Foundation block. Then head up to the roof to snap pictures of the maze of traditional houses.

Dubai Frame

Built in Zabeel Park, this 150m-tall structure is located between the historical and modern sides of Dubai. The attraction is a great photo stop both from up close and afar.

Head to the observation deck for a better view.

La Mer

This recently opened attraction comprises four distinct zones – a beach, leisure and entertainment hub, cafes and restaurants, and a waterpark. With twinkling lights and artsy murals along the beachfront promenade, the attraction is packed with many beautiful backdrops.

Explore wide open spaces or the bustling back streets complete with eclectic street art for unique clicks.

Sunset Beach

This beach is an excellent venue for Instagrammers and avid photography fans. For the classic photo of the iconic Burj Al-Arab hotel against the golden Arabian sun, take an afternoon seaplane tour from Atlantis at The Palm to capture a stunning view from above.

Madinat Jumeirah

This iconic venue is located by the Arabian Gulf. It’s another good location to take photos of the Burj Al-Arab hotel, framed by historical-like buildings and turquoise waters. For a magnificent sunset shot of the seven-star hotel, head to any of the terraces of the restaurants.

The young and young-at-heart would find plenty to love at this venue. It is dotted with juice bars, burger joints, cafes, restaurants and fasionable boutiques.

Thrill seekers can also engage in a mix of exhilirating and fun activities. Some things to look out for are camel riding, kayaking, ziplining, skydiving, flyboarding and jetskiing.

Alserkal Avenue

This art district has an industrial feel that will cater well to millennials. It is home to a collection of over 25 international and emerging art galleries, hip cafes, design stores and artisanal spaces. Venture inside the warehouses and engage in artsy activities – including art jamming, catching an independent movie screening and lounging in cool cafés.

One of the most Instagrammed buildings in the world, the Burj Khalifa is a skyscraper that defines the iconic skyline of the city. When standing in front of Dubai Opera, you can capture both the dhow-inspired performing arts centre and the Burj Khalifa in a single shot.

Otherwise, hop on to At the Top Burj Khalifa SKY for sweeping views of the entire city.

Last Exit

This is truly a one-of-its-kind themed food truck concept park. It is located in various key locations, including those conveniently situated on Sheikh Zayed Road between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Each location has its own unique theme, featuring playful colours and funky designs that make great social media posts.


This is one of Dubai’s most breathtaking natural attractions, making it a photogenic place.
