Sun, surf and sea beckon at Siargao island in the Philippine Sea 800km south-east of Manila.

When going on a holiday, one should set off on the trip with a comfortable and relaxing flight. With so many airlines to choose from these days, travellers are spoilt for choice.

One such notable carrier is Philippine Airlines (PAL) which recently won the World’s Most Improved Airline Award for 2019.

As the carrier that achieved the biggest leap in product and service quality among a survey of over 350 leading airlines worldwide, Philippine Airlines is also known as Asia’s First Airline.

Flying non-stop from Kuala Lumpur to Manila 11x weekly, the airline also connects travellers to Japan, Australia, United Kingdom, the United States and Canada.

The world-beating award was conferred by the global air transport rating organisation Skytrax during the 2019 World Airline Awards on June 18 during the Paris Air Show at the Musée de l'Air et de l' Espace, Paris Le Bourget Airport, France.

Fly to your destination with one of the top Asian airlines in the world.

Besides, PAL is also now ranked as the Top 30 Airline in the world, rising 19 spots from the Top 49 in 2018, and a full 60 spots from Top 90 in 2013.

Other PAL rankings in important categories include:

♦ Top 10 World's Best Business Class Comfort Amenities

♦ Top 10 Best Airline Staff in Asia

♦ Top 11 World's Best Cabin Crew

♦ Top 11 World's Best Airport Services

♦ Top 11 World's Best Premium Economy Class

♦ Top 14 World's Best Economy Class

Skytrax has also recertified PAL as the first-ever Philippine carrier to earn a 4-Star Global Airline title based on comprehensive quality audits performed in December 2018 and January 2019.

Other awards from Skytrax include Second Most Improved Airline and Top 30 cleanest cabin. These accolades were the result of the flag carrier's comprehensive top to bottom enhancements of aircraft, product and overall services across key performance areas.

Internationally recognised as the Oscars of the aviation industry, the annual World Airline Awards was established by Skytrax in 1999 to acknowledge the best-performing airlines.

The winners are chosen through an extensive World Airline Survey of more than 20 million travellers, encompassing over 100 nationalities and 335 airlines to make up the largest passenger satisfaction survey in the world.

Philippine Airlines received a 4-Star Global Airline certificate from Skytrax recently.
