Safranbolu, a Unesco World Heritage Site, is a typical Ottoman city in Turkeys Karabuk province which is home to over 2,000 terracota-tiled wooden buildings which are over 300 years old.

I was not sure what to expect from the trip to Turkey’s Black Sea region initially, as it’s still a relatively unknown destination. The few people who have been there described it as being “like Switzerland”, with rustic alpine landscapes.
