I was glad to escape the blistering heat in Malaysia when the family and I went to Macao and Guangdong in April. Zhuhai in Guangdong is apparently noted for being the best city to live in China. It is interesting that the late Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping chose Zhuhai and Macao to be among the regions that experimented with capitalism before extending it across China.
Macao appears to be familiar, but I basically only know it for its gambling and that it used to be an outpost for the horrific coolie trade. And that many of the inhabitants have Portuguese blood.
