Visitors to the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) Fair on March 11-13 can expect to find plenty of exciting domestic tour packages.
The event will feature over 260 booths that offer uniquely Malaysian travel experiences. And many of these packages can be found at the Tourism Malaysia Pavilion.
Tourism Malaysia deputy director general (Planning) Chong Yoke Har said the packages offered will display the various charms of Malaysia.
“There are packages in various segments such as Eco & Nature, Island Gateway, Culture & Heritage and so much more,” she said, adding that special offers and savings are provided at the fair.
The “Real Inner Jungle” package for one, is a three days/two nights tour to Taman Negara in Pahang. Activities include rapid shooting, night jungle walking and visits to villages of indigenous people.
“Another interesting package is “To The Wild”, which revolves around the wildlife,” Chong said. On the special three day/two nights tour, travellers would be able to get up close with orang utans, elephants and other wildlife.
For beach lovers, Chong said packages to Pulau Langkawi, Pulau Kapas and Pulau Tioman for instance should appeal.
Tourism Malaysia is targeting a sale of over 17,000 packages and RM4.65mil in revenue, through its participation in the travel fair.
A total of 110 organisations – comprising tour, hotel and tourism product operators – will participate at the Tourism Malaysia Pavilion.
An estimated 66.8 million domestic tourists – spending an estimated RM45.7bil – are expected to travel within the country this year.
Matta Fair would be held in PWTC, Kuala Lumpur and the first leg of the biannual travel expo would feature 1,240 booths and over 150 exhibitors in five halls.
