Britain should build a third runway at London Heathrow airport to ease congestion, a government-appointed commission recommended on July 1 despite opposition from environmentalists and London mayor Boris Johnson.
The runway would cost £17.6bil (RM104.4bil), but would generate up to £147bil (RM868.2bil) over 60 years and create more than 70,000 jobs by 2050, the commission said in a long-awaited report.
