The world’s most outstanding properties were identified by the world’s largest travel site.
THE Casa del Mar resort hotel in Langkawi was named Malaysia’s top hotel at the recent TripAdvisor’s 2014 Travellers’ Choice awards. The Danna Langkawi and Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur clinched the second and third spots respectively.
“Being acknowledged by travellers from all over the world is a testament to our philosophy of management in which guests come first as we strive to always over-deliver,” said Tom Blachere, Casa del Mar’s general manager.
In its 12th year now, the award recognises the world’s most outstanding properties in the categories of Top Hotels, Bargain, B&Bs and Inns, Family, Luxury, Romance and Small Hotels.
“We’re excited to recognise the world’s best properties, based on the opinions of those who know them best – the millions of travellers around the globe who come to TripAdvisor to share their experiences,” said Barbara Messing, TripAdvisor’s chief marketing officer.

Travellers’ Choice award winners were determined based on the reviews and opinions of millions of TripAdvisor travellers around the globe. In total, 7,123 unique properties worldwide won awards in 2014, with Asia featuring 1,518 unique hotel winners.
