Fashion trends come and go, and so do the designers that engender them. 2018 was a game of musical chairs for some prominent fashion houses, as a few designers made the unexpected switch from one label to another.
Hedi Slimane’s appointment as Celine’s new artistic, creative and image director in January was a controversial one. For one, his creative vision was believed to be as “un-Celine” as it could ever be. Slimane also has a penchant for tearing down fashion houses and rebuilding them from the ground up.
