Every Royal Selangor collection begins with the idea that pewter can hold more than form – it carries stories from one generation to the next.

For the Autumn/Winter 2025 collection, that belief manifests in designs that celebrate both heritage and modern living.

Unveiled to members of the media at an exclusive event in October held at Jeff’s Cellar – the famed limestone cavern at Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat in Ipoh – the Autumn/Winter 2025 collection includes elegant homeware, refined decor and signature collectibles, each piece bearing the unmistakable artistry that have defined the brand for 140 years.

For the launch, local media were invited to a specially curated two-day experience that included a visit to the Tanjung Tualang Tin Dredge No. 5 or TT5, the last tin dredge in Malaysia.

Tanjung Tualang Tin Dredge No. 5 or TT5 ceased operations in 1982 and now serves as a historical site open to the public. Tanjung Tualang Tin Dredge No. 5 or TT5 ceased operations in 1982 and now serves as a historical site open to the public.

Here, one can explore the tin dredge and learn about tin mining in the Kinta Valley through informative displays at the TT5 info center.

Royal Selangor’s high-quality cast pewter consists of 92% to 97% tin, crafted to perfection by artisans to produce the brand’s exquisite creations.

Within the Autumn/Winter 2025 collection – which consists of 11 distinct ranges – are lines that pay tribute to Malaysian and South-East Asian stories such as Malaysiana and Warisan II.

Other ranges stand out for their unique pieces, like the Silk Road collection and its depiction of ancient marvels along the historical trade route.

A collaboration with Warner Bros Discovery Global Consumer Products and DC manifests in the form of a limited edition Superman Bust, while the latest Marvel-themed collectible comes in the form of the Spider-Man vs The Sinister Six Plaque.

Each range within the Autumn/Winter 2025 collection embodies the brand’s design philosophy – which blends art, culture and emotion into pieces that are as functional as they are timeless.

Stories cast in pewter

Royal Selangor’s Autumn/Winter 2025 Collection is a reminder that true beauty lies in heritage and culture woven into skill craftsmanship and legacy.

The brand’s managing director Datuk Yong Yoon Li said that for this collection, the team drew deeply from art, culture and heritage by studying design forms from their archives, many of which have served families for decades.

“From there, our designers research and reimagine these forms for contemporary living, ensuring each piece feels relevant and meaningful to the 21st century of living,” said Yong.

Each object, from a chic tea set to comic book collectible, is meticulously crafted to evoke emotion and memory.

Among this season’s highlights is The Silk Road Collection, inspired by the legendary trade route that connected East and West.

At the heart of the Silk Road collection are the Apsaras, celestial beings depicted in the Mogao Grottoes’ murals. At the heart of the Silk Road collection are the Apsaras, celestial beings depicted in the Mogao Grottoes’ murals.

A key stop along the ancient trade route where goods, ideas, beliefs and artistic traditions were exchanged, the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang, China hold an extraordinary network of caves containing mural art depicting Buddhist stories, deities and celestial beings.

“The Apsaras, in particular, captivated us. These graceful, flying figures are adapted from Indian mythology into Chinese Buddhist art, symbolising divine beauty, music and blessings,” said Yong.

Interpreting these murals into three-dimensional forms was the challenge – to capture their movement and spirit while reflecting the grace, artistry and cultural connection the brand wanted to express through their craftsmanship.

“Our design team comes up with the concept and initial design, then builds on it, adding form, texture and finish until the piece truly takes shape. The entire creative journey, from concept to final piece, can take up to 12 to 18 months, ensuring that each design not only honours its inspiration but also resonates with today’s generation of gift-givers,” he added.

The result is a collection that translates ancient artistry into contemporary luxury – pieces that are sculptural, tactile and infused with symbolism.

The Malaysiana Collection celebrates Malaysia’s natural heritage and national icons.

Every piece in the series honours the country’s unique flora, fauna and cultural motifs – a proud reflection of Royal Selangor’s identity as a Malaysian brand with global appeal.

This collection serves as a reminder that the most meaningful gifts often come from one’s own roots – a sentiment that resonates deeply as Royal Selangor marks its 140th year.

In honour of its milestone anniversary, Royal Selangor also unveils four exquisite new editions of its iconic Melon Teapot – a design that dates back to the brand’s founding years.

The teapot’s sculptural curves and drip-free spout are timeless symbols of craftsmanship and functionality.
