Everyday watches need not be boring.
It can be statement pieces that reflect the owner’s personality and character.
Testament to that, luxury watch brand Omega introduced its latest Aqua Terra Shades collection from the Seamaster range that comes in 10 variations, something for everyone to express their own style.
To showcase the new hues, a private event called “Every Shade of You” was held at Omega boutique in The Gardens Kuala Lumpur.
Omega Malaysia vice-president Martin Issing says the event is to celebrate colours.
The Seamaster was first launched in 2002 based on the colours of the earth, he says, with the name Aqua Terra originating from “aqua” being water and “terra” being earth.
In the fourth edition since its launch, Issing says the latest collection consisted of vibrant and unisex colours for general appeal.
“The collection is such that it is meant to be a neutral watch with different colours that fit every move and mood,” he adds.
Despite the changes on the design over the years, Issing says the one thing that has been staple is the watch’s sporty yet elegant look that works for all occasions.
“You can wear it in the water, to the office, to the beach and to play golf or tennis.
“It fits casual Sundays, as well as cocktail dresses and black ties.”
Some 65 selected clients, media members and influencers were present at the event. Some influencers were also modelling the watches.
Guests have a chance to see the collection up close.
There are two different sizes available, made with polished stainless steel cases either in 34mm or 38mm, and all presented with the Master Chronometer certification, which means its movement has passed the strict tests set by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology that guarantees the highest standard of quality, precision and magnetic resistance.
The dials of Seamaster Aqua Terra Shades are crafted from brass, sun-brushed and lacquered.
In the 34mm range, the dials feature 18K white gold for the hands and indexes, which are shaped like sailboat hulls. The colour selection for the 34mm range includes sea blue, lagoon green, sandstone, shell pink and lavender.
For the 38mm models, the dials have traditional rhodium-plated hands and indexes.
Colours available for the 38mm range are Atlantic blue, bay green, sandstone, saffron and terracotta.
Each watch features a symmetrical case and crown in polished stainless steel, with a wave-edged design on the back and stainless steel bracelets.
In addition, there are two 18K gold models crafted in alloys.
There is the 38mm choice, arrived in time to be displayed at the showcase.
It is made from Omega’s own red alloy, with bezel pavé of 46 diamonds totalling 1.77ct, sun-brushed and lacquered dial in a sandstone colour.
The other – 34mm – is made of Omega’s own yellow gold alloy with sun-brushed and lacquered dial in lagoon green.
Both have date windows and sailboat indexes, among other features.
Besides the feast for the eyes, guests were also served drinks and tapas, and entertained by DJ Irama for the evening.
Guests also had fun at the arts and craft booth where they could create their own resin coaster using dried flowers in a variety of colours.
