Hand-painted personalisation for fashion lovers

Personalisation has been making waves in the fashion world in a big way, and brands have been coming up with all sorts of creative ways for shoppers to customise products.

Michael Kors recently launched MK My Way, an in-store experience that allows customers them to personalist their Signature logo print handbags with their initials.

The MK My Way is currently taking place in various stores around the Klang Valley via colourful, pop-up kiosks, splashed with metallic hues and punctuated by oversised, graphic takes on the brand’s Signature print.

After purchasing a Signature print handbag, customers will be able to get their bags hand-painted with their initials and a selection of jet set-themed motifs by local artists and illustrators, including Alice Yap, Carmen Chin and Yimin. Supplies are provided by Angelus Paints, a California-based paint company and world leader in luxury customisation.

To celebrate the launch of MK My Way, Michael Kors has created a digital campaign starring Malaysian personalities including multi-faceted artiste Daiyan Trisha and fashion influencer Christinna Kuan.

An event was held at Michael Kors Pavilion Kuala Lumpur on May 11, which was attended by personalities such as Jane Lau, May Ho, Yaya Zahir, Amelia Henderson, DeFam and more.

Guests were treated to the MK My Way experience, where each received hand-painted initials on their Signature logo print pouches, thanks to the presence of three talented illustrators: Love Limzy, Carmen China and Yiimin, who painted the initials on-the-spot.

The live painting pop-ups are taking place until June 12, 2022, at the brand's stores in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, One Utama Shopping Centre and Sunway Pyramid.
