There was no shortage of highlights at the Spring/Summer 2020 Paris Men's Fashion Week, although the public rarely gets a look-in at such exclusive events.
Thankfully, models, designers and major fashion houses are quick to share key moments with their social media followers, offering mere mortals a sneak peek into the backstage world of fashion shows and private parties, and sometimes sharing more personal messages.
Olivier Rousteing's Balmain Festival
This was undoubtedly one of the standout events of this latest Paris Men's Fashion Week. For the first time, the Balmain fashion house – helmed by creative director Olivier Rousteing – staged a festival of fashion and music in the heart of Paris to present the label's Spring/Summer 2020 men's collection, coinciding with France's Fete De La Musique – a musical celebration held every June 21.
The famous French fashion designer captured the moment with a photo of him on stage at the event, flanked by his Balmain Army, in the French capital's Jardin Des Plantes.
It was a landmark moment since the show was open to the public for the first time. Olivier Rousteing thanked all those who attended in the message accompanying his picture: "Incredible night. You made everything unforgettable. Thank you."
Farewell From Carol Lim And Humberto Leon
After eight years at the helm of Kenzo, creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon staged their final runway show for the fashion house on Sunday, June 23.
The emotionally charged show featured a performance from one of the duo's devotees, Solange. On Instagram, Carol Lim congratulated her counterpart, Humberto Leon, as well as the Kenzo team, expressing her pride in their achievements over the last few years.
Although not part of the official Paris menswear calendar, the Karl Lagerfeld tribute event held at the French capital's Grand Palais was inevitably a standout moment of this latest men's fashion week.
Organised by Chanel, Fendi and the Karl Lagerfeld brand, this timeless moment brought together all those who were close to the famous designer in a celebration of his life and his career.
Gigi Hadid, Carla Bruni, Brigitte Macron, Anna Wintour, Caroline De Hanovre and Charlotte Casiraghi all attended the tribute event, which featured performances from the likes of Lil Buck, Charlie Siem, Lang Lang and Pharrell Williams. – AFP Relaxnews
