For the first time in Malaysia, Barbie has collaborated with a local fashion brand. The recently released Duck scarf designs will allow girls to style their dolls using their own creativity and imagination.
They are miniature versions of the latest release from The Oriental Duck Print Collection. To redeem the gift (barbiexduck.com), one will need to purchase a minimum of RM100 worth of Barbie products at leading toy, departmental or hyper stores.
Barbie will also be releasing a short video this November featuring the founder of The Duck Group, Vivy Yusof. The video will highlight the entrepreneur’s career, as well as her advice for little girls on how to be successful entrepreneur themselves.
In line with Barbie’s “You Can Be Anything” campaign, the video aims to inspire young girls to pursue their dreams and be whoever they wish to be when they grow up.
A mother of three, Vivy was said to have been selected as Barbie’s local role model based on her career path, of which is an inspiration to many in Malaysia and across Asia.
A law graduate from London School of Economics, she is also the co-founder and chief creative officer of FashionValet, one of South-East Asia’s leading e-commerce platform with over 400 local brands under one click.
For 59 years, Barbie has inspired girls to be anything and continues to inspire the limitless potential in every girl by encouraging imagination, expression and discovery through play.
There apparently is not a “ceiling” Barbie hasn’t broken. From engineers to film directors, doctors, ballerinas and musicians, these countless choices have always offered girls the opportunity to play out whatever they can imagine.
