Atopy and sensitive skin in her family led Sung Chun-sun to look for skincare products suitable for them in 2003.
Sung started by making simple, naturally-fermented soaps, and eventually progressing to toners, lotions and essences.
Her products were well-received by friends and relatives, prompting her to open a shop in South Korea a year later.
Today, Swanicoco is one of the Republic’s leading cosmetics companies, with the brand making its debut in Malaysia recently.
Swanicoco’s strength comes from its trademarked anti-ageing fermentation process which produces natural bio-ingredients, replacing artificial chemical ingredients.
It uses botanicals and Korean medicinal herbs as ingredients for fermentation, integrating biotechnology with eco-friendly natural components to boost skin elasticity and promote skin regeneration.
“Our brand caters to all skin types and challenges, and is the only brand trademarked with a special anti-ageing fermentation process,” said Kevin Hyun, general manager of Swanicoco Korea, who was in Kuala Lumpur for the launch of the brand.
“With growing consumer interest in using natural and organic beauty ingredients, it was befitting to introduce Swanicoco, known for its unique bio-based formulation, to Watsons Malaysia,” said Caryn Loh, general manager (country head) of Watsons Malaysia.
Some of Swanicoco’s key products include the Vitamin E Extra Matt Emulsion, Pore Clearance, A.C Control Care Skin Toner, Gold Plant Stem Pure Ampoule and the Extra Hydrating Swan Cream.
One of the brand’s star products is the RH-EGF Pure ampoule, which promotes cell renewal with its special formulation, the Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF).
Swanicoco is available exclusively at selected Watsons stores and Watsons online store.
