There is nothing more uplifting than a whiff of a luxuriously scented perfume.
Following her very high profile split from Brad Pitt, it seems timely for Angelina Jolie to take pleasure in an uplifting role as she has just been named the new face and muse for French luxury beauty brand Guerlain.
A luxury beauty brand since 1828, Guerlain Parfumeur announced that they are honoured to reveal that Hollywood’s highest paid actress, Angelina Jolie, is the icon of its new fragrance for women, Mon Guerlain.
According to the brand, the partnership was initially agreed in December 2015 in Cambodia – the birthplace of Maddox, her first son – while she was directing First They Killed My Father.
Jolie, 41, credits her first memories of Guerlain to a powder she remembers her late mother using when she was little.
Jacques Guerlain, master perfumer and third generation of the Guerlain family, says, “We always create for the women we admire.”
The admiration stems from Jolie being one of the most powerful people in the American entertainment industry and one of the most beautiful.
In addition to a film career as an actress and filmmaker, Jolie is known for her humanitarian efforts and promoting a variety of causes from women’s rights, education, to her role as a Special Envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
This has to be a coup for Guerlain as Jolie rarely accepts endorsements as her last role as the face for a brand was for Shiseido, a Japanese luxury beauty brand, in 2007.
The fragrance is expected to launch in March and according to Guerlain’s news release, Jolie will donate her entire earnings from the campaign to charity.
