Rocker Courtney Love has joined forces with Los Angeles-based fashion label Nasty Gal to create a “killer collaboration, coming soon”, according to the brand.
The tie-up, a first for the retailer on this celebrity scale, was announced via Nasty Gal’s Instagram account, along with a shot from Love’s 1998 Celebrity Skin praising her as “one of the baddest bi**hes of all time”.
Nasty Gal quickly followed the first post with further related news, announcing a contest via its site and social media offering winners the chance to attend a launch party with Nasty Gal founder Sophia Amoruso and Love in Los Angeles on Jan 13.
The collaboration has been touted as a perfect match for the vintage rocker and label, with both parties bringing attitude in spades, and marks a departure for Nasty Gal from its previous partnerships. Some of these partnerships include with brands such as For Love & Lemons and Lazy Oaf, Teva, Jeffrey Campbell, Line and Dot and OneTeaspoon and MAC Cosmetics.
By comparison, Love has experience in playing muse to fashion mavens such as Marc Jacobs and Hedi Slimane but has never participated in a brand creative collaboration on this level. – AFP Relaxnews
