Pavilion Pitstop makes a return to KL in conjunction with the F1 Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix, with international brands Coach and Paul Smith partipating.
Fashionistas have reason to rejoice as the annual Pavilion Pitstop makes its return.
To be held at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur from March 25 to 29, the fashion showcase is in conjunction with Formula 1 Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix.
In partnership with Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad, this year’s Pitstop theme is titled Fashion Beats!, to signify the pulsating fashion the mall continuously upholds.
To accelerate the excitement, the programme will feature Spring/Summer highlights from international brands like Coach, Paul Smith, Guess & Marciano and DKNY. The event is expected to draw one of the largest gathering of celebrities in town, with appearances from Datuk Siti Nurhaliza, Henry Golding, Jason Godfrey, Joe Flizzow, SonaOne and Kyoto Protocol.
“As the defining authority in fashion, we are pleased to host Pavilion Pitstop for the seventh year running. Fashion has always been in the heartbeat of what we stand for, and we are privileged to showcase this signature event,” said Joyce Yap, CEO of Retail, Pavilion KL at the media launch last week. She added that Formula 1 Lotus and Ferrari cars will be on display at the mall during the Pitstop week.
The opening showcase is by American brand Coach. In its Cool Americana range, Coach revisits the 1970s with long flared pants, chubby jackets and oversized jumpers amidst a Bohemian vibe. After all, the key to a Cool Americana look is to find separate pieces that can be worn together, while still standing out individually.
For DKNY, its collection features a vibrant spring mosaic of blazing red, supersonic green, luxe yellow, cabana blue, ink and powder.
Expect to see a lot of bold beading and mirrored palettes, proportions play of fit and flare, and a kaleidoscope of prints clashing with macro and mini stripes.
Presenting its very first fashion show in Asia is Paul Smith. In its women’s collection, Smith presents an effortless way of dressing; its inspired palette is light, chosen fabrics have an elegant delicacy, tailoring is deconstructed and detailing has a masculine feel. In its men’s collection, expect tuxedo lapels worn with T-shirts and buttonless, rolled-up suit sleeves paired with snazzy trainers.
Homegrown menswear brand Lord’s will also be participating; its collection is inspired by vibrant coastal colours of the Mediterranean Sea.
The line, designed by Kenny Loh, reflects an Italian holiday with a relaxed feel across the pieces. It features a crisp palette of azure blue, bright blue, lemon yellow, cayenne red and tropical green, contrasted with neutral beige, white and grey.
