The Year of the Horse sees several brands coming out with special collections.
Puma
The Puma Year of the Horse pack is the perfect union of East meets West in classic Puma form and is made with lush suede in rich chocolate brown tones.
Bearing traditional Chinese elements, it pays respect to Xiangqi, also known as Chinese chess, as the insoles are designed with the pattern of the Chinese chess board and the shoes come packaged in a special edition shoe box.
The Chinese symbol for horse is also embroidered on the tongue and etched on a wooden traditional chess piece that hangs on the shoes eyelet for that added uniqueness.
Xalf
The brand’s latest collection is inspired by Shanghai in the 1920s.
Consisting of ballet flats and peep-toe pumps, it features Chinese motifs, including the ever popular floral embroidery.
Xalf’s interpretation is of a time when luxurious jade, sequins and cheongsams speak for itself while symbolism from the Chinese zodiac, patterned silk jacquard scarves and mandarin-collared shirts are infused into the footwear.
Guess
The Spring/Summer 2014 campaign highlights the season’s key trends.
With something to offer for every qipao, cheongsam or mandarin dress in terms of a low heeled sandal, strappy wedges and almond toe pumps, complement your outift with the soft neutral tones, fringe detailing and romantic quilting.
Alternately, go sexy and bold with a pair accented with studs and chains for an edge.
